Surge heights are associated with terrain elevation to delineate inundation zones for hurricane category 1 - 4 storms. Multiple storm landfall locations have been factored to produce a worst case flooding for any given area. Northwest direction storms which landfall at high tide are used as these storms produce the highest surge in this region.Hurricane storm surge zones have been produced as a component of the New York State Hurricane Evacuation Re-Study.
